Read the story: what snake jewellery means
Snake jewellery, reimagined
The serpent is one of jewellery's oldest symbols. It crowned the pharaohs of ancient Egypt as the uraeus, coiled around Roman wrists and became a token of love when Prince Albert gave Queen Victoria a snake engagement ring. Shedding its skin, the snake stands for rebirth; swallowing its tail as the ouroboros, it stands for the endless.
THENÚM's snake earrings and necklaces carry that history into sculptural, wearable form. The Núra Luxor serpent studs have green zircon eyes. The Serpent du Soleil earrings pair the snake with the sun, and some styles hold a baroque or black baroque pearl. Each piece is cast in 925 sterling silver, left pure or finished in 22K gold micron plating, and made in small runs by our artisans in Istanbul.
